Background
The Lelant Village Produce Association was formed on 12 October 1944 as part of the ‘Dig for Victory’ campaign in World War II. Dig for Victory was an extremely successful marketing initiative which encouraged members of the public to grow their own produce.
Since then, the LVPA has expanded its areas of interest, organising talks and outings for its members. While the main purpose of the LVPA is based on a shared enthusiasm for all things horticultural and craft based, the main event, our Annual Show, along with our talks, provide opportunities to meet with friends, neighbours and fellow villagers.
About us
We welcome all who are interested in gardening and/or those who simply want to listen to the talks and socialise over tea and cake!
With the resurgence of interest in growing vegetables and flowers there is much to be learnt from those with years of experience. We want to be a hub where everyone can enjoy sharing ideas and learning from others.
Lelant Village Show
In the summer, the association holds its annual show in Lelant Village Hall when villagers proudly display their best produce from their garden or allotment. The range of classes has expanded over the years to include not just fruit, vegetables and flowers but also floral art, baking, preserves, handicrafts, art, photography and a children’s section.
